Frequently Asked Questions

Our office is located at 23 N. 6th St, Emmaus, PA. The office is in a single house. Please enter the front door and come up the steps. The door at the top of the steps leads to our waiting room. Please wait here until your counselor comes to get you.

You can either go through your insurance or pay out of pocket yourself. If you go through your insurance, your out of pocket fees will be your copay and/or deductible, if you have one. The fee for self-pay is $150 per one hour session.

We are in network with most insurances, including Highmark, Capital Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, and others. Please feel free to reach out to see if we can take your insurance. Please note, we are unable to take Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time.

Each insurance plan is different, so we recommend you contact your insurance provider (you can find the phone number usually on the back of your insurance card) to verify if we are in network and what your copay and or deductible will be.

A copay is how much you have to pay out of pocket per visit. A deductible is a certain amount of money you need to pay out of pocket first before your insurance plan starts paying. Each insurance plan is different, so we recommend you contact your insurance provider (you can find the phone number usually on the back of your insurance card) to verify if we are in network and what your copay and or deductible will be.

Keith sees individuals 18 and up as well as couples. Clients come in for many different reasons: depression, anxiety, relationship issues… Please contact us to set up a free consultation call and determine if we would be a good fit for you!

Both! There are benefits and negatives to each approach, but we will work to determine which is the best fit for you! Some clients come into the office for some visits, and do telehealth for some visits depending on their schedule.

Sometimes it’s easier to talk on the phone instead of emailing back and forth. A consultation call is a quick, usually around 15 minutes, phone call where I can answer any questions you have, and see if we would be a good fit together. I’m not a salesman, so there will be no pressure or commitment. You can call or text to 610-831-3908 or email keith@interconnectioncounseling.com to set up a consultation call.

I don’t prescribe medication. Prescribing medication is different from therapy, and I don’t have the training or license to prescribe medication. Meds can be helpful for some people, either on their own or in addition to therapy. For other people, therapy without meds is all they need. If a client is interested in learning more about medication, I can refer them to a med specialist while continuing to work with them in therapy.

Therapy is different from talking with a friend. In therapy, we can go over your history and see if we can find the how you came to understand who you are, and if that view of yourself is still accurate. We can explore and find the coping skills that help you manage depression, anxiety, or other issues you may be facing. We can also take a look at your thought patterns, and see if we can change or modify those patterns to help you you heal and progress, rather than stay stuck in the same loops and repetitions.

All kinds of people! I would say that anyone who feels stuck, feels like they have things they need to get off their chest, or who wants to change the direction of their life may benefit from therapy.

Well, I suppose there is only one way to find out! Research shows the most important factor in successful therapy is the connection between the client and the therapist. Each therapist has their own approach, so if you start therapy with me and it doesn’t seem like the best fit, I will try to find you a referral for a therapist who may be a better match.
